Enjoy the new 400 Block, especially the free concerts on Wednesday nights, bring a blanket and lawn chairs, fun for the whole family.Ģ5.) Take an aerial view of the city and beautiful surrounding area, the Wausau Municipal Airport offers rides for very reasonable rates to enjoy all the area, from high above.Ģ6.) Take your dogs to the Weston dog park for a few laps.Ģ7.) Bike the Mountain Bay Trail, it goes all the way from Wausau to Green Bay, I've only ever made it to Hatley, but test your stamina on a great riding trail.Ģ8.) In the winter months it is an ABSOLUTE MUST to go ski or snowboard Granite Peak, people come from all over the Midwest to ski this gem and it's in our own backyard, take advantage of it.Ģ9.) Snowshoe the 9-mile trail, or bike it, depending on the season.ģ0.) Take in a Wisconsin Woodchucks game at Athletic Park, win or lose it is ALWAYS a blast.

Take a visit to the Marathon County Historical Society and find out about the men and women who built this lovely city that we now live in, or look at yearbooks from the 1800's and 1900's, try and trace you geneology.Ħ.) Now I wont give you ALL my fishing holes, BUT, I will say boating off Beans Eddy in Mosinee is a guarantee to catch catfish off the bottom, OR, if your fishing from the shore, the Schofield Dam is always a good bet.ĩ.) Take your significant other to a nice restaurant, Lucci's, Michaels, Carmellos, Mino's.ġ0.) Walk the Andrew Warren Historic District and check out all the beautiful houses that were built at the turn of the century by some of Wausau's most influential business men and women.ġ1.) Watch the PBS special (available on this website) on the founding of Wausau and how it got to be the thriving metropolis it is today. 4.) Go check out the world-renowned art pictures, sculptures and displays at the Leigh Yawkey Art Museum, and the best part, ITS FREE!!!
